Teaching

Wintersemester

Within the bachelor’s program in biology, we teach Basic Zoology (lecture and practical course) and Molecular Cell Biology (lecture) in the first semester. We also contribute to the lecture series on Model Organisms and Modern Biological Techniques (lecture and practical course). We offer literature seminars and bachelor thesis projects related to our current research activities. Teaching at the bachelor’s level is mostly in German.

Further information

Within the master’s program in biology, we offer research modules and project modules in Molecular Cell Biology, Developmental Neuroscience and Light Microscopy Techniques. For project modules please contact: M. Bastmeyer, J. Bentrop or F. Weth. We also organize the Marine Biology Excursion to Giglio.

Further information

Within the M.Sc. program of the Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics (KSOP), we teach the Basics in Molecular Cell Biology (2nd semester) and provide a lab course on Biological Fluorescence Microscopy. In addition, we offer lectures in Advanced Molecular Cell Biology, Optics and Vision in Biology and Imaging Techniques in Light Microscopy (all in the 4th semester). In addition, we offer the PhD Module ‘Advanced Light Microscopy in Biological Sciences’ and contribute to the PhD Module on Deep Learning. Teaching in the KSOP is in English.
